Logan’s Birth Story!

She’s six months old! This little milestone has me thinking about the day we met her. Logan came into the world in a much calmer way than her big sister, though it was fast!

Our morning started early! We were to be at the hospital at 7 the morning of the 7th.

Got some last snuggles in before this girl officially became a big sister.

After a few “high in the sky”s with Landry at Sukie and Papa’s, and some sad goodbyes (only on my end) we headed to the hospital:)

My water broke and things were moving QUICK. By 10, I had my epidural and dilating fast. Thank goodness they had time for the epidural. I was able to sit still and relax for almost no time at all before it was time to push!

My first “push” picture was at 12:39 and this picture was at 12:45! Keep in mind we started all this at 7:30! haha

Philip had just prayed the sweetest prayer for our family.

Philip’s first time to hold her! I don’t have a good picture of it this time, but he cut Logan’s umbilical cord with the same knife he cut Landry’s:)

Lovie meeting our girl! By this time, one other visitor was allowed to come in. She was amazing and kept us full of all my food wishes while there;)

I’m gonna go ahead and say that it was a DREAM to not be allowed to have visitors. We soaked up all the alone time and skin to skin with Logan that we weren’t able to with Landry. It is so wonderful to have so many that care and want to be there for such a beautiful occasion, but with Landry, I remember feeling like I needed to be dressed, presentable, and ready for company every minute from the time I had her until we went home. There was one point that I checked the time and people had come back to back for so many hours in a row that I had not FED her!! Something I still feel such guilt about. So. If you are reading this and an expecting mama, I encourage you to either ask for that time with baby and husband or have the nurses put a sign on the door for times that aren’t convenient.

Okay back to Logan:)

The next morning, I had the wonderful long awaited shower and cuddled our sweet girl between pictures:)

We had a wonderful IBCLC come back and forth to visit and help with nursing and that’s something I can’t recommend enough either. Have her ready to come in and help. Even after nursing Landry the entire year before, it was like starting all over and I needed all the reminders:)
